Prenatal Reformer Pilates 

Your Pregnant body changes on a daily basis to make room for your growing baby. Pilates is the perfect exercise to keep you strong and mobile during this time. Our classes emphasise the importance of working with the breath, not only to engage the deep core muscles but also to relax the body and mind. We also pay special attention to the glutes and hips which tend to weaken as your body changes shape. Stiffness and general aches and pains can be a struggle during pregnancy so we include plenty of rotational and mobility exercises in the class. The benefit of doing Pre natal Pilates on the Reformer is the added resistance from the springs, the assistance of the springs and the support of the machine itself. There are a multitude of adaptations for each exercise and you don’t need any prior Pilates experience to start the class. 

Whilst Contemporary Pilates exercises can be adapted for all stages of Pregnancy, there are factors to consider when starting any new exercise routine. It is important to discuss your exercise intentions with your Midwife or GP, as there may be conditions that need to be highlighted. You will need to complete a Perinantal Health Questionnaire before you can start your prenatal classes. 


What to expect: 

  • Classes will be kept small with just five participants, this is to ensure you get the support you need and can be monitored carefully. 

    The classes will be 45-60 minutes (45mins of exercise, 15mins of catch up, discussion and Q&A)  

    Classes are booked in blocks of six to secure your space. You will have 10 weeks to use your six classes from the date of your first session. Any classes not taken before the birth can be used towards Post Natal Classes. Please see Terms of Service for cancellation policy 

    During the class there will be a mixture of standing, high kneeling, kneeling on hands and knees, side laying and sitting. All exercises can be adapted to your needs and Pregnancy related conditions, your comfort and wellbeing is of upmost importance. We have plenty of pillows for added comfort and support. 

    You will be asked to regularly update your health information with your Teacher, if there are any concerns, your Teacher may request you get medical clearance before continuing with the class. Whilst our Teachers are highly trained in the most recent Pregnancy guidelines for Pilates and exercise in general, they are not medically trained.

  • Pre Natal 1:1 (Mat, Reformer and large equipment Pilates):
    • Consultation (one hour) | £50
    • 1:1 Session | £50
